An Old Sketch on an Envelope
This little drawing on the back of an envelope turned up the other day.
It's a portrait of a lovely Welsh guy I used to know, named Dale Evans. We shared college digs for a year when I first went to Brighton Art College.
We were about twenty then.
I think it's a pretty good picture, maybe I should do more drawings on envelopes.

It's a lovely, lovely drawing. Light and yet precise. I love the way so much is imagined and the delicate highlights on his hair. Some real drawing going on here Mr Lynch
my favorite section is around the eye and how nicely it sets on the face. Lots of form and depth going on. And the white highlight on the eyelashes draw me in and push that form even further. nice nice nice.
Awesome life drawing.
