"Comics, Covers and Children's"

Below is a painting I did quite some time ago for "Catkin" by Antonia Barber.
It is currently on show in the Central Library at the Ilac Centre in Dublin, as part of a collection of work from Illustrators Ireland members.
The show, curated by IGI member Margaret Anne Suggs, is called "Comics, Covers and Children's" and features work from ... Comics, book Covers and Children's Picture books.
So there is a huge and lovely variety of styles to see.
After the Central Library, the exhibition travels to a number of other libraries around the city, see the poster for details.

The Nutcracker Artwork

I was messing about with this image for an event that the IGI (Illustrators Guild of Ireland) are going to do with The Art Park in Dublin.
The illustration of the Nutcracker was originally done for an exhibition and a book for Whowhatwherewhenwhy Belfast.

Illustrators Ireland's Website Makeover

Speaking of the IGI, the Illustrators Ireland website has had a very nice makeover courtesy of our web officer Stephen Synnott.
Great job Stephen.

IGI Exhibition at The United Arts Club.

Thursday the 26th sees the opening of a show of original illustrations by myself and other members of the IGI.
There will be work there by Niamh Sharkey, Chris Judge, Adrienne Geoghegan, and many others.
We each submitted two pieces.
It's at the United Arts Club in Dublin at 8pm.
Come along if you are in the area.

Death and the Maiden

Given a pretty free brief for the IGI Offset event "Laundry" which is on in Dublin next Wednesday, I set about creating an image that reflected many of my own deeper pre-occupations and visual fixations.
Here is the painting that resulted.
I'm not sure what a shrink might make of it.
