Storm at Sea

Here's another sketch from the book I am working on now. The one I have written myself.
I don't want to say too much about the story but I will be posting more of the pictures as I proceed.
This one is a pencil drawing with some Photoshop effects added.

Hi, PJ,
I love this work. It reminds me of Théodore Géricault's "The Raft of the Medusa."
Your style, in my eyes, is very romantic.
Kind regards, Sadami

Hi Sadami
thanks so much
I love "The Raft of the Medusa." It made a huge impression on me when I saw it in the Louvre....it is huge. Have you seen it there? Almost worth a trip to Europe.
There is a great book about the painting of it which also tells the story of Géricault's short life and the complicated politics of France at the time.
it's called "Medusa: The Shipwreck, The Scandal, The Masterpiece"
I am very flattered that my little drawing reminded you in any way of the Raft of the Medusa
Very best regards
PJ

Dear PJ,
Thank you for the wonderful book info. I'd visit Europe and the Louvre. I know some about the painting, but I'd know more. Actually, Mérimée's short story, "Tamango" reminded me of that painting and vice verse at school days (*was a book warm!). Each great painting has a great interesting story, we know.
But PJ, I never flattered! You've, indeed, inspired me to become a picture book illustrator. Thank you.
Very best regards, Sadami

Hi P.J., I have been reading Ignis to my kids for about ten years now, all of whom inspected your illustrations closely,(they loved them) and was delighted to discover your blog. I blog too and sometimes mention childrens books, I know you said that the book you are writing yourself is secret, but can I ask, is it for children? And do you know when it will be finished?
