Step by Step on the Boozy Irish Heroine

I did a step-by-step on the process of creating the illustration for the Irish Examiner poster.
You can see it at the IGI's blog, Scamp.

Very cool piece. Sad, but very nicely done. Especially love how elegant her face and neck look

What a treat to see your process, many thanks! I couldn't have guessed that you completed any of this partially w/digital imaging. I also got to learn about yobs. Hadn't a clue before your post -a consciously reversed form of boy. May Ireland have fewer of them.

Short of looking over your shoulder while you work this IS an education for us. Again thanks, Amal

Many thanks Amal and Anonymous,
I'm delighted that you enjoyed the process Amal. Ihave been playing about with Photoshop for many years but have only recently started adding final touches to my illustrations using it.
It is an awesome tool, and for me at least, it is important to use it sparingly. But when a picture is being blown up to a very large size, there is nothing like being able to home in on a small area and make it perfect.
That's a bunch of beers in her hand. If you follow the links to the "step-by-step" all will become clear.
All the best
PJ
