I suppose the first thing I should mention is that I have two Christmas books in the shops at the moment.
My version of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens was a big success last year, and we have included four prints to frame with this year's edition.
We haven't abridged the text at all, and have illustrations on nearly every spread. That means the book has almost eighty pictures of various sizes.
More than in any other book I have illustrated.
The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey is re-issued in a beautifully designed new edition. Included is the Grammy nominated reading of the story on CD read by James Earl Jones.
The movie of the book was completed this year.
It's very good, and I'm really pleased that the film makers stayed true to the look of the book.
Check out the website.

rtHi there, I'm applying for art school and I would love to use your illustrations from The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey as my 'inspiration' photos. It has been one of my favourite books since I was tiny and I have recently seen evidence of my subconscious absorbing your styles, especially in my paintings of hands. Would you be able to send me some images of this book, I'm very wary of copyright laws!
Hope to get a reply soon.
Hi Amy
I am delighted that you like the Christmas Miracle...it is one of my own favourite books.
You will find various lo res images online and on my blog or website. Or you can just look at the book itself. Don't take too much inspiration from my work though....don't copy my pix...try to find your own way to make your own images. I do confess though that I copied the work of many artists whose work I liked.
Dont worry about copyright laws....they only worry if you start to make lots of money from my designs.
Good luck with your career and have a great time at art college.
Best wishes
PJj
Thanks. I don't copy works, creating your own is much more fun! I have to have images of others peoples work that have inspired me for my application so a pic or two from Jonathan Toomey will be great! Hopefully I get in!
